The government of Senegal suspended non-essential foreign travel for ministers and senior officials due to rising global oil prices.

Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko said the move aims to ease pressure on the national budget.

He noted oil prices reached around $115 per barrel compared to $62 in the budget.

Further measures are expected to be announced soon.
