Saudi Arabia Welcomes Iraq's Commitment Not to Use Its Territory to Target Regional Stability

The Saudi Council of Ministers, on Tuesday, welcomed Iraq's confirmation of its commitment not to allow its territory and airspace to be used as a launching point for any actions targeting the Kingdom. During its session, the Council expressed its approval of the outcomes of the recent meeting held in Riyadh between the two sides. This included Iraq's pledge not to permit its lands and airspace as a base for any acts or attacks against Saudi Arabia, GCC states, and countries in the wider region. The agreement also encompassed continued bilateral coordination to serve mutual interests. Separately, the Council approved a memorandum of understanding for technical and scientific geological cooperation between the Saudi Geological Survey and its Iraqi counterpart.
