Yasser Al-Mishal, head of the local organizing committee for the 2027 Asian Cup, confirmed Saudi Arabia's readiness to host the continental tournament, emphasizing the continuation of preparations according to approved plans despite the postponement of the event. This statement followed the Asian Football Confederation's announcement to reschedule the finals to take place from December 23, 2027, to January 21, 2028, instead of the original dates from January 7 to February 5, 2027, after consultations with the Saudi Football Federation and the organizing committee. Al-Mishal stated in a release on the committee's X platform account that preparations to welcome teams and fans were complete as per the approved plans, affirming that work continues with the same momentum until the new date. He added that the change is limited to the tournament's schedule, while plans and preparations will continue in coordination with the AFC and partners to deliver an exceptional edition befitting the Kingdom's and the tournament's status.
