Russia Resumes Sending Experts to Iran's Bushehr Nuclear Plant
Russia's state nuclear energy corporation, Rosatom, announced the return of its first batch of experts to Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant. CEO Alexey Likhachev confirmed six experts have already begun their return to the site. This follows Rosatom's evacuation of hundreds of employees from the Bushehr plant, where it constructs two new units. The evacuation occurred after heightened security tensions and military strikes targeting Iran on February 28, leading to a military confrontation involving regional and international parties. Likhachev had previously described the situation at Bushehr as "calm at present." He noted that if this stability holds, the company would start restoring staff to normal levels by mid-July. Likhachev also affirmed that the timeline and procedures for the experts' return were agreed upon in close coordination with relevant security agencies.
