Educational institutions in Riyadh adopted the remote learning system starting Sunday, following the armed attack that targeted the Saudi capital's airport on Saturday, which was blamed on the Houthis in Yemen, according to an official notification sent to families. The digital notice clarified that this decision comes in response to the directives of the Ministry of Education, as it was decided to shift all schools within the capital's boundaries to virtual learning throughout the current week. This decision is considered the second measure of its kind taken in the capital in a timeframe of less than a month. The missile attack, attributed to the Houthi group targeting the passenger terminal at King Khalid International Airport yesterday Saturday, resulted in the death of at least twelve people and the injury of three hundred and nine others, which led to a complete halt in operational activities and the declaration of a state of maximum health emergency within the city hospitals. In the same context, the General Authority of Civil Aviation in the Kingdom issued an official statement via the X platform, indicating that the assault claimed the lives of twelve individuals, including four Saudi citizens and residents belonging to multiple nationalities including American, Egyptian, Bangladeshi, Argentine, Syrian, Palestinian, and Sudanese, in addition to the injury of three hundred and nine people with blows ranging in severity between moderate and critical, among them a group of Umrah performers. For his part, the spokesman for the Arab Coalition, Turki Al-Maliki, made a statement describing the attack as a cowardly terrorist assault amounting to a war crime, vowing to respond to it with utmost firmness, while reports simultaneously noted the fall of another military projectile in the areas adjacent to King King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, along with the successful interception of a ballistic missile inside Al-Kharj governorate.
