Barcelona fans reported receiving insults and racist gestures from Feyenoord supporters during a Champions League match at "Camp Nou," where Barcelona secured a 5-1 victory in the first group stage game. Some fans endured a challenging night due to offensive actions by Feyenoord supporters in the away section. French sports content creator Isia shared a video on "X," claiming it documented part of the incident she and her friends experienced. The approximately 10-second video shows a Feyenoord fan making crude gestures and mimicking monkey movements towards Isia and her companions. Another fan is seen performing a throat-slitting gesture. Isia commented: "In 2026, to be called a monkey because of a football match... what a shame." The French fan detailed that Feyenoord supporters threw various objects from the stands. According to French network RMC, she stated: "We spent the match trying to protect ourselves, as they were throwing beer bottles, cigarettes, and anything usable as projectiles at us." Isia clarified that the situation began with banter and provocation but worsened during the match. She noted fans violently hitting the glass barrier, escalating to racist chants and monkey imitations, describing the encounter as "a very difficult match."
