The State of Qatar vehemently condemned the Iranian attack targeting Jordan early Wednesday, considering it a violation of sovereignty and international law, and called for an immediate halt to all military actions threatening regional security and stability. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated today that the continuation of these attacks represents an escalation that would complicate efforts aimed at containing tension and undermine diplomatic and political endeavors to achieve regional security. Doha held Tehran fully legally responsible for these aggressions and any resulting repercussions. Qatar reiterated its full solidarity with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, affirming its support for all legitimate measures taken by Amman to preserve its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity. It also called for refraining from any actions that would broaden the scope of escalation and for a serious return to negotiations and adherence to diplomatic understandings. Qatar's stance came after Jordan was subjected to a missile attack early today. Information indicated that the Kingdom's air defenses dealt with an assault involving 20 ballistic missiles launched from Iranian territory. Forces were able to intercept and destroy 18 missiles, while two fell in empty and remote areas without any casualties. In a related context, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced it carried out a ballistic missile attack targeting the Azraq military base in Jordan, located approximately 100 kilometers from the capital, Amman.
