Qalibaf: Unipolar Global System Concluded

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf declared the unipolar global system has ended. His statement on "X" followed the Russian and Chinese vetoes of a US draft resolution extending the Iran sanctions committee's mandate. Qalibaf stated: "China and Russia's veto against the illegal US draft resolution prevented the Security Council from being exploited for political purposes." He added: "The unipolar system, which allowed one party to impose its demands by force and coercion, has ended." He concluded: "Multilateralism must be defended, as unilateralism serves no party's interests."
