Prize Money Revealed for Gulf Cup 27 in Jeddah

The 27th edition of the Arabian Gulf Cup, "Gulf 27," kicks off Wednesday evening in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with eight national teams competing for the title and substantial financial prizes. Football fans in the Gulf eagerly await this tournament, which runs until October 6, offering incentives totaling $1.5 million for the first and second-place teams. Details of the tournament's financial prizes have been revealed. The "Gulf 27" champion will receive one million dollars, while the runner-up will be awarded $500,000. It was clarified that the tournament will not include a financial prize for the third-place team. Regarding individual awards, the best player in the tournament will receive a residential apartment provided by strategic partner "Al Diyar Al Arabiya Real Estate Development," with its location to be determined later. "Gulf 27" competitions begin with two matches in Group A. The Iraqi national team opens its campaign against Oman at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium, scheduled for 5:30 PM KSA and Egypt time. This will be followed by a match between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, set for 9:00 PM. The tournament is held in Jeddah from September 23 to October 6, utilizing King Abdullah Sports City Stadium and Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Sports City Stadium. The first round of matches continues on Thursday with encounters between UAE and Yemen, and Qatar and Bahrain, as part of Group B. The eight participating teams have been divided into two groups, each comprising four teams. Group A includes Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, and Oman, while Group B consists of the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Yemen. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals. The winner of Group A will face the runner-up of Group B, and the winner of Group B will play the runner-up of Group A. Both semifinal matches are scheduled for October 3, with King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah hosting the final match on October 6. The eight teams enter "Gulf 27" with varying ambitions, noting that Bahrain is the defending champion, having won the previous edition held in Kuwait in 2025.
