Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi's office announced Monday that his upcoming Washington visit aims to bolster economic and development partnership and attract investments. Al-Zaidi begins an official visit to the United States today, Monday, leading a high-level delegation, marking his first foreign trip since government formation. The office clarified the visit, at U.S. President Donald Trump's invitation, seeks to advance Iraqi-American relations and enhance economic and development partnership. It also aims to draw investments, expanding American companies' role in infrastructure. Objectives further include developing energy, oil, and gas sectors, boosting national capabilities in refined petroleum products and petrochemicals, and supporting productive sectors to diversify the national economy. During discussions with U.S. President Donald Trump and senior officials, alongside meetings with business and economic community representatives, Al-Zaidi will present strategic files. These aim to solidify the strategic partnership between both nations based on mutual interests.
