Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi affirmed on Wednesday the urgent need for a comprehensive revolution in the national system of laws and legislation. This came during his reception of the head of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, Rebwar Hadi Abdul Rahman, and committee members, where discussions focused on several files, legislation, and laws related to the work of both the executive and legislative authorities. Al-Zaidi emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation and coordination between the two authorities to accelerate the enactment of legislation that serves citizens' interests and supports state institutions. He also stressed the importance of developing the legislative system to meet development requirements, stimulate the economy, and strengthen the rule of law and state institutions. The Prime Minister indicated that addressing national files and issues requires adopting constitutional and legal frameworks, confirming the existence of many files and draft laws that need urgent approval, including the Popular Mobilization Law, the Development Fund Law, and a package of other legislative projects. For their part, the head and members of the Legal Committee expressed their full support for the government's reform steps, especially in legal aspects and combating corruption, reiterating their commitment to continuing legislative work to achieve citizen welfare and enhance stability and development in the country.
