Prime Minister Stresses Importance of Enhancing Iraqi-US Partnership on Mutual Respect
Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, during his reception of the Chargé d'Affaires of the United States Embassy in Iraq, Joshua Harris, on Sunday, affirmed the importance of developing Iraqi-American relations based on mutual respect and common interests. During the meeting, held in Baghdad, both sides discussed prospects for cooperation and ways to expand it in all fields, particularly economic, investment, and cultural, to serve the interests of the two friendly peoples. Al-Zaidi emphasized the necessity of constructive communication and sustained joint work within the framework of the Strategic Framework Agreement and bilateral Memoranda of Understanding. He also stressed the commitment of both parties to enhancing partnership and coordination on various bilateral and regional issues, and to working towards solidifying the language of dialogue and diplomacy as a means to resolve conflicts and and establish security and stability in the region. For his part, the American Chargé d'Affaires expressed his country's appreciation for Iraq's efforts in strengthening diverse bilateral partnerships, commending Iraq's pivotal role and its supportive endeavors for regional security and stability.
