Prime Minister Issues Important Directives Including Re-evaluating General Managers in State Institutions
Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi on Tuesday issued several key directives, most notably the re-evaluation of general managers across all state institutions according to standards of efficiency, professionalism, and integrity, to elevate functional and institutional performance. This came during his chairmanship of the Council of Ministers' ordinary session, which saw a discussion of the country's situation and deliberation on agenda items, leading to necessary decisions and recommendations. Al-Zaidi affirmed the government's commitment to adopting a constructive competition approach among private sector companies while avoiding exceptions. He stressed that the relevant ministry would bear responsibility for exceptional contracts, to safeguard public funds and ensure quality of execution. His directives also included the re-evaluation of investment opportunities in the electricity sector, and the formation of a joint Iraqi-Uzbek business council to activate and develop economic, commercial, scientific, and technical cooperation between the two countries.
