Prime Minister Directs Acceleration of Strategic Oil Pipeline Project Linking Iraq, Turkey, and Syria

Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi on Saturday ordered the accelerated implementation of a strategic oil pipeline project connecting Iraq with Syria and Turkey. The directive came during a meeting chaired by Al-Zaidi, which included the Oil Minister, senior ministry officials, the Prime Minister's office director, and representatives from implementing companies. Comprising two main pipelines (Basra-Haditha-Faysh Khabur and Haditha-Baniyas), the project's technical, economic details, and long-term developmental impacts were reviewed by Al-Zaidi during the session. Discussions also encompassed export routes and projected oil volumes for transport via these vital lines. The Prime Minister mandated immediate project commencement, instructing the Oil Ministry to ensure all necessary conditions and requirements for companies, guaranteeing completion to the highest standards. Al-Zaidi affirmed the significant strategic importance of these crude oil export pipelines for Iraq, as they diversify export routes and enhance export capacity, serving the nation's economic and developmental interests now and in the future.
