Prime Minister Al-Zaidi Directs Oil Companies in Iraqi Kurdistan to Resume Operations Tomorrow
Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi on Wednesday directed oil companies operating in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region to resume operations starting tomorrow, Thursday. This directive followed Al-Zaidi's meeting with a Kurdistan Regional Government delegation, led by Minister of Natural Resources Kamal Mohammed Saleh, and representatives from international oil companies. The Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Oil, and the Chief of Staff of the Army, also attended. During the session, the Prime Minister received a detailed explanation of the companies' operating conditions, especially after recent regional events. A comprehensive plan for swift operational resumption was also presented. Al-Zaidi stressed providing all necessary requirements to ensure oil companies' continuous work in the Region. He noted Iraq's significant damage from the halt in oil exports via the Strait of Hormuz, urging intensified efforts to compensate for losses by resolving issues hindering production growth. He reaffirmed the order for companies in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region to resume work from tomorrow, emphasizing joint cooperation, a suitable environment, and essential provisions.
