Prime Minister Al-Zaidi Begins European Tour to France and Germany to Boost Partnerships

The visit is in response to official invitations from both governments. In a statement, the office indicated that Al-Zaidi is embarking on a prominent European tour covering the French and German capitals, by official invitation. This tour aligns with the government's efforts to develop international relations and open broader horizons for partnerships with French and German counterparts. Discussions will center on vital sectors, primarily energy, security, and transport, alongside other important fields. During his foreign tour, Al-Zaidi is scheduled to meet French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. These meetings will address a wide range of regional and international issues of common interest. The Prime Minister will lead the Iraqi delegation in expanded talks with French and German sides. These discussions aim to strengthen economic partnerships amid current regional and global challenges. The visit will also feature the signing of several memoranda of understanding in energy, security, transport, education, and culture, thus solidifying cooperation and enhancing bilateral relations.
