Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi confirmed on Saturday the government's readiness to provide the necessary facilities to support the return of Christian families and include them in the "Million Residential Land Plot" project. This came during the Prime Minister's reception today, Saturday, of the Patriarch of the Chaldean Church in Iraq and the World, His Beatitude Patriarch Mar Paul III Nona, and his accompanying delegation, which included the Archbishop of the Chaldean Archdiocese of Erbil, Bishop Bashar Matti Warda, and a number of Christian clergy. Al-Zaidi emphasized that Iraq's strength lies in its ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity, and in the unity, integration, and social cohesion of its people, stressing that Christians are an active component and a fundamental partner in nation-building and in shaping Iraq's history and future. He pointed out that the return of Christians, who were forced to leave the country due to the difficult circumstances Iraq experienced, represents a national and governmental priority, affirming that the government is committed to consolidating stability and ensuring sustainable security and civil peace. The Prime Minister also reiterated the government's readiness to provide the necessary facilities to support the return of Christian families, including their inclusion in the "Million Residential Land Plot" project, clarifying that Iraq is a homeland for all Iraqis and that diversity within it is a source of strength for society and the state. In a related context, Al-Zaidi called on Iraqi Christian businesspeople and investors abroad to return and contribute to the reconstruction process, taking advantage of investment opportunities available in various development sectors, especially in the health and education sectors. He affirmed that the government would provide various forms of support to ensure the success of their projects and enhance their contribution to economic development and job creation. For his part, His Beatitude Patriarch Mar Paul III Nona expressed his profound thanks and appreciation to the Prime Minister for the attention and support he shows to families and businesspeople from the Iraqi Christian community, stressing that these stances and measures represent an important message that will encourage Christian expatriates to return to their homeland and enhance their confidence in their future in Iraq. The Patriarch affirmed the readiness of Christian businesspeople to actively contribute to the implementation of investment projects and participate in the process of building and development, serving Iraq and all its people.
