PM Confirms 2027 Budget Submission to Parliament Soon

Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi confirmed on Thursday that the government is actively preparing the 2027 general budget law, with plans for its swift submission to the Council of Representatives. This announcement followed Al-Zaidi's meeting with members of the Al-Sadiqoon parliamentary bloc, led by MP Odai Awad Al-Tamimi. The discussions centered on various national issues, including developing services and growth across all governorates, enhancing executive-legislative cooperation, and supporting government efforts in reform and anti-corruption. The Prime Minister stressed the legislature's crucial role in bolstering government actions and program implementation. He also highlighted its vital oversight and legislative function in combating corruption by monitoring state institutions' performance. Al-Zaidi indicated that the upcoming budget includes a significant allocation for electricity. He affirmed the government's commitment to increasing oil production and exports in the coming years. For his part, the head of the Al-Sadiqoon parliamentary bloc reiterated his bloc's absolute support for the Prime Minister's efforts and the government's policies, particularly in fighting corruption, achieving financial and administrative reform, and prioritizing the nation's supreme interest and safeguarding its resources.
