PM Al-Zaidi to Begin Official Visit to France Next Sunday
Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi will commence an official visit to the French Republic next Sunday, September 13. A statement issued by his media office indicated that the visit comes at the official invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron. This visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and explore avenues for expanding partnerships across various vital fields and sectors, most notably energy and security. Al-Zaidi is scheduled to meet with French President Macron next Monday, September 14, where they will discuss a range of regional and international issues of mutual concern. Furthermore, both sides will co-chair an expanded discussion session involving the Iraqi and French delegations, aimed at laying foundations for new partnerships between Baghdad and Paris. The session will address general frameworks for bilateral cooperation in areas such as economy, security, energy, education, and others, contributing to the confrontation of various regional and international challenges. The visit will also witness the signing ceremony of several memoranda of understanding in various sectors.
