Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi affirmed that ongoing investigations have not indicated any attacks originating from Iraqi territory towards Saudi Arabia. Al-Zaidi stated, in a press interview, that clear directives have been issued to prevent any future transgressions. He added that the relationship with the Islamic Republic of Iran, like that with all countries in the region, is based on good neighborliness, mutual respect, and shared interests. Al-Zaidi emphasized that Iraq does not accept dictates from any party, and its decisions will always be guided by the paramount interest of Iraqis first. He further mentioned that an in-depth dialogue was conducted with armed factions, during which it was stressed that the state is the overarching framework, and the presence of weapons outside its institutions cannot be accepted. He confirmed the government's endeavor to build an Iraq free of foreign forces and armed formations. In another context, Al-Zaidi indicated that the completion of vacancies in the government lineup would occur within two weeks.
