Peseschkian Links Hormuz Reopening to End of US Blockade

Iranian President Masoud Peseschkian hinted at the potential reopening of the strategic Strait of Hormuz, stipulating that Washington must end its naval blockade and military aggressions against Iranian ports. In this regard, Peseschkian affirmed his country's pursuit of more rational and stable relations with neighbors, according to the Iranian news agency "ISNA" on Saturday. He added that Tehran and Muscat are set to sign an agreement next Monday concerning new shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway for global oil and gas trade overlooked by both countries. Separately, U.S. President Donald Trump stated earlier today that the conflict with the Iranian side would conclude very soon after the upcoming midterm elections in November. Trump opined that Tehran is attempting to hold out as long as possible to complicate the election process.
