The Parliamentary Finance Committee affirmed the government's obligation to secure salaries, emphasizing their status as a fundamental duty and a top priority that cannot be relinquished. Ahmed Al-Haj Rashid, a committee member, stated that the nation confronts an extremely difficult financial situation, stemming from declining revenues and the inability to export oil at usual levels due to the Strait of Hormuz closure. He stressed, however, that the government must provide salaries as a core commitment and paramount priority that cannot be compromised. Al-Haj Rashid highlighted the government's need to seek financial alternatives to cover operational requirements, continue funding vital projects, and adopt a more efficient policy for managing available resources. He further explained that the current phase demands deliberate measures to tackle the crisis and lessen its impact on citizens. He urged focusing on diversifying revenue streams and rationalizing expenditure to maintain financial stability, cautioning that a prolonged crisis without genuine solutions will intensify pressure on the public budget and impede future government plans.
