Parliament summons finance minister and central bank governor over exchange rates

The speaker of the House of Representatives has directed an emergency hosting session for the central bank governor and the finance minister to discuss the motives behind adjusting the dollar exchange rate and its repercussions during a session scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday. The parliament's media department clarified in an official statement that this step aims to examine the details and consequences of the mentioned decision. Earlier on Wednesday, the Central Bank of Iraq announced the implementation of a new mechanism to adjust the dinar exchange rate against the foreign currency starting from October seventh, two thousand and twenty-six, including setting official purchase and sale pricing.
