Official: X Platform to Terminate "Communities" Feature in May, Replacing it with XChat and Grok Technologies

 Nikita Bier, Head of Product at X, announced today, Saturday, April 25, 2026, that the platform will permanently shut down the "Communities" feature by May 30. Bier explained that the decision came after findings revealed the feature was used by only 0.4% of users while accounting for 80% of spam and fraud reports. As an alternative, the platform introduced the XChat app to support large group chats, along with the "Custom Timelines" feature powered by "Grok" AI, enabling users to follow their interests in a more secure and organized manner.
