Norwegian Prime Minister Affirms Government's Pursuit of Enhanced Cooperation with Al-Zaidi
Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre affirmed on Thursday his government's aspiration to elevate cooperation with Iraq across several vital files. Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi received, on the same day, the Norwegian Chargé d'affaires to Iraq, Alexander Lerfall, who delivered a written message from his country's Prime Minister. The message congratulated Al-Zaidi on assuming his duties and his government gaining the Council of Representatives' confidence. In his letter, the Norwegian Premier emphasized his country's interest in strengthening bilateral relations with Iraq, founded on robust cooperation and a shared vision for security, stability, and peace. Støre also expressed his government's keenness to enhance cooperation across multiple sectors, notably fostering economic and trade partnerships, collaborating on climate issues and emission reduction, alongside supporting efforts to consolidate stability at both regional and international levels.
