The International Association Football Federation "FIFA" officially released its latest world ranking of national teams for October 2026, following the conclusion of the international fixtures period held last September. The updated rankings showed a slight decline for Egypt after the Pharaohs took part in three international matches during the past international break, securing two victories against Angola and South Sudan within the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, alongside a single friendly defeat against South Africa. Consequently, the Pharaohs preserved their third place across the African continent while dropping one spot globally to sit in 25th place with 1585.86 points. Morocco maintained its top spot among African nations despite dropping one position globally to seventh place, followed immediately by Senegal in second place continentally and eighteenth worldwide, whereas Algeria climbed one global rank while remaining fourth in Africa. FIFA's report highlighted that Rwanda achieved the biggest jump by advancing nine spots, while Guinea-Bissau gained the highest points tally with +35.64 points, Sierra Leone recorded the biggest drop by losing eight spots, and Cape Verde witnessed the largest points decline with -29.39 points.
