New British Sanctions Target Russia and Entities in Four Countries
The British Foreign Office announced on Thursday the imposition of sanctions targeting twenty-six Russian figures and entities, alongside companies and bodies from China, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Canada, and Thailand. The measures encompassed twenty-three companies from Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Canada, and Thailand, as well as citizens from Kyrgyzstan, the Netherlands, and Russia. Furthermore, restrictions were applied to twelve vessels allegedly transporting Russian crude, while the British Treasury issued a temporary exemption for the Zarubezhneft company to wind down its operations in the country, with the license valid until November 21. Meanwhile, Russia has repeatedly affirmed it will cope with Western sanctions that began years ago and continue to expand. President Vladimir Putin stated that the policy of containing and weakening Russia represents a long-term Western strategy, asserting that the sanctions have dealt severe damage to the entire global economy and those who impose them first.
