National Security Agency Dismantles Drug Network, Seizes 3.5 Kg Marijuana in Capital

The National Security Agency announced on Friday the dismantling of a specialized drug trafficking and promotion network in the capital, Baghdad. The operation resulted in the arrest of six of its members and the seizure of approximately 3.5 kilograms of marijuana. In a statement, the agency clarified that the qualitative operation was conducted under the direct supervision of the head of the agency, following intensive intelligence and field efforts. The operation began with intelligence information about a marijuana dealer, which later developed to expose the network's extensions and its main storage facility. After obtaining the necessary judicial approvals from the specialized judge in Baghdad, the first suspect was tracked, and a tightly coordinated ambush was set, leading to his arrest. From there, the network's threads began to unravel sequentially, and field investigations and evidence gathering led to the identification and apprehension of the remaining members. The agency's detachments carried out a series of tracking and raiding operations that resulted in the arrest of the suspects one after another. The operation culminated in the discovery of a marijuana storage facility hidden inside an abandoned house, which was raided, and the large quantity of the illicit substance stored within was confiscated. The six suspects and the seized contraband have been handed over to the relevant judicial authorities to complete the necessary legal procedures against them.
