Najaf Friday Preacher Urges Framework to Decide PM and Reject Pressure

Friday preacher in Najaf Sadr al-Din al-Qabbanji urged the political framework to decide on the prime minister position and reject foreign pressure and political quotas.

He said Kurdish and Sunni blocs have already settled their positions by electing the president and parliament speaker.

Adding that responsibility now lies with Shiite forces to finalize their decision within the constitutional timeframe.

He noted the remaining week is crucial to nominate a prime minister following the election of Nizar Amidi.

He called for unity and ending the political deadlock.

Stressing that Iraq’s national interest must come first.

He also warned against yielding to foreign threats.
