MP Kazem Al-Shammari confirmed on Wednesday the existence of a consensus within the Coordination Framework to determine the session date and approve a structure involving the creation of three new ministries. Al-Shammari stated that the establishment of a tourism ministry by separating it from the culture ministry came as an urgent response to the necessity of paying attention to religious and archaeological tourism and investing in historical potentials possessed by Iraq that have not been invested properly yet, stressing that this separation does not require adding new personnel or financial allocations but relies entirely on existing staff and departments. He added that creating a digital technology ministry comes to keep pace with modern governance and automation requirements, and to unify the work of currently scattered software directorates and companies among ministries, supporting effective oversight and curbing corruption outlets without the need for new appointments, alongside agreeing to create a state ministry to enhance the executive formation and support institutional coordination.
