Mojtaba Khamenei Approves Memorandum of Understanding Between Iran and United States
Mojtaba Khamenei, son of Iran's Supreme Leader, issued a message to the Iranian people on Thursday evening, announcing his approval of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Tehran and Washington to end the conflict. In his message, addressed to the "zealous and loyal Iranian people," Khamenei stated that an MoU had been signed between the presidents of Iran and the United States. He noted that relevant officials had exerted diligent efforts with good intentions to reach this stage, while the US President—as he described—"exploited various types of pressure tools stemming from his state of desperation." Mojtaba Khamenei clarified that he initially held a different opinion but granted approval based on a commitment made by the President, in his capacity as head of the Supreme National Security Council, on behalf of himself and other members. This commitment involved safeguarding the rights of the Iranian people and the resistance front, with the President explicitly declaring his responsibility for it. Khamenei further added that the President had also affirmed they would not yield if the American side insisted on its ambitions or increased its demands. Khamenei concluded his message by stating, "From this moment, we—meaning you, the proud people, and this humble servant—will be awaiting the fulfillment of the stated conditions." He emphasized that future direct negotiations "will by no means signify acceptance of the enemy's view." He expressed hope that divine blessings would bring various victories and conquests to the honorable Iranian people.
