Sceye announced the successful test flight of its solar-powered high-altitude platform SE2, which lasted 12 days.

The platform belongs to the HAPS category, designed to remain in the stratosphere for extended periods and used for communications and monitoring.

Engineers believe such platforms could act as a bridge between ground infrastructure and satellites, particularly for operational communications and wide-area observation.

During the mission, the platform exceeded 16 km in altitude and traveled about 10,300 km from New Mexico to the coast of Brazil, bringing the technology closer to commercial use.

The flight was part of the "Endurance" program aimed at testing long-duration operations, starting on March 25 and ending on April 6.

The platform spent more than 88 hours in station-keeping mode over specific areas before landing in international waters off Brazil.

According to the company, the collected data paves the way for a new operational phase with missions that could last several months.
