Ministry of Justice releases hundreds of inmates during September

The Ministry of Justice revealed on Thursday the monthly statistics regarding the number of inmates released by the Iraqi الإصلاح Department during September 2026, confirming that the total count reached 601 inmates across Baghdad and several other provinces. The ministry explained that those released included 472 inmates who gained their freedom based on various judicial decisions, while the number of individuals covered by the general amnesty law reached 129 inmates. The ministry emphasized that the department continues to follow up and execute release procedures after completing all legal requirements, in line with adopted frameworks and reflecting commitment to professional and humanitarian duties.
