The Ministry of Interior on Thursday reviewed its comprehensive weekly security, field, and service operations, warning against the misuse of artificial intelligence technologies to produce indecent content. The Ministry affirmed that the law would be enforced against anyone exploiting these technologies to harm society or disseminate illicit materials. Colonel Mohammed Ali Al-Hassoun, the official spokesperson for the Ministry, stated that these outcomes reflect continuous efforts to protect citizens, enhance security, and provide services. In a related context, the Ministry’s Senior Undersecretary, Hussein Al-Awadi, visited the Police College, emphasizing the application of regulations as the sole criterion without exceptions in entitlement. Al-Awadi also inspected the Court of Cassation for Internal Security Forces, stressing the need to resolve cases, improve work efficiency, and reinforce justice to strengthen institutional performance. The Senior Undersecretary met with families of martyrs, wounded individuals, and humanitarian cases, directing that their needs be met, affirming the Ministry's ongoing care and attention to these segments. Regarding security operations, the Ministry's Police Affairs Agency executed over 2,000 duties by local police. Additionally, numerous fingerprints were lifted, and several crime scenes were investigated. More than 3,000 light weapons were registered, and approximately 180 others were confiscated. To enhance border security, the Border Forces Command continued installing surveillance cameras, fences, and inflatable barriers. They also equipped solar energy systems, erected towers, and carried out construction and renovation work on outposts and annexes. In the fight against narcotics, the General Directorate for Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances seized over 17 kilograms of illicit drugs and arrested several suspects. Its awareness and educational efforts to combat this scourge continue. Concerning the protection of national wealth and combating oil product smuggling, the Energy Police Command apprehended 26 suspects. The Command seized various tankers and vehicles prepared for smuggling oil derivatives and raided a den where products violating regulations were confiscated. In emergency response, the Civil Defense Directorate successfully extinguished over 60 fires and conducted three successful rescue operations. Its specialized teams continue to remove war remnants in several areas of the country. On the service front, the Directorate of Civil Status, Passports, and Residence continued providing services to citizens, printing over 52,000 electronic passports and 94,000 national identity cards. The General Directorate of Traffic also processed over 94,000 license plates, annual renewals, and driving licenses. The Ministry affirmed that the law would pursue anyone using these technologies to harm society or publish prohibited content. It urged citizens to report such content via the "Balligh" platform on the "Ain Al-Iraq" website, contributing to curbing this phenomenon and ensuring legal action against perpetrators.
