Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani affirmed on Thursday the region's full commitment to supporting the government of Prime Minister Ali Zaidi in confronting political, security, and economic challenges. Barzani indicated that the Kurdistan Region has contributed to supporting Iraqi oil exports and providing electricity to citizens across the country. During the American University of Kurdistan graduation ceremony in Duhok province, Barzani clarified that the region promptly initiated building bridges of communication with partners in Baghdad, and these joint efforts are now laying the foundations for a new Iraq. He stressed that Zaidi's government receives full and complete support from the region to address the challenges facing Iraq and the entire region. Barzani added that this support was not limited to statements but materialized in tangible actions; when the Strait of Hormuz conflict cast its negative shadows, the Kurdistan Region promptly supported Iraqi oil exports and the export process. He also confirmed the provision of electricity to Iraqi citizens outside the region, even during times when the region itself was in dire need. Barzani considered this the true meaning of partnership and actual proof of building Iraqi state institutions on the ground. He explained that solid institutions mean justice, stability, and a future built on competence and talent, not on favoritism. He concluded that a strong Iraq requires a strong Kurdistan, and a strong Kurdistan is a safeguard for peace and prosperity in this entire region, deriving its strength from its unity.
