A 6.5-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of the Southern Philippines on Friday. The U.S. Geological Survey reported the tremor's epicenter was 35 kilometers southwest of Balangonan. It occurred at a depth of 52.4 kilometers. There were no immediate reports of human casualties or material damage from the seismic activity.
