Life Sentences for Three French Nationals Linked to ISIS in Karkh

The Karkh Criminal Court issued life sentences today against three French nationals convicted of belonging to the ISIS terrorist organization, in the presence of their legal representatives and officials from the French embassy in Iraq. Judicial sources indicated that the verdicts were based on Article 4/1, Articles 2/1 and 3 of the Anti-Terrorism Law No. 13 of 2005, and Article 132/1 of the Penal Code. The three defendants were part of a group of 47 French suspects handed over by Iraqi authorities after being detained in northeastern Syria. The First Karkh Investigative Court conducted investigations before referring them to the competent court following the established legal procedures.
