Lebanese Prime Minister in Baghdad Affirms Pursuit of Economic Partnership with Iraq for Investment and Sustainable Development
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam affirmed his country's aspiration for an economic partnership with Iraq, aiming to support investment and foster sustainable development. From Baghdad, Salam expressed his pleasure and that of the accompanying delegation during their visit to "the Land of Two Rivers" and meetings with President Nizar Aamidi and Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi. He emphasized Lebanon's commitment to strengthening strategic connectivity and integration projects with regional countries in energy, telecommunications, and transport sectors, leveraging current opportunities. Salam clarified that regional economic cooperation forms a fundamental pillar for strength, stability, and shared prosperity, especially if based on a vision achieving mutual benefits. He indicated Lebanon aims to be an active partner with Iraq in formulating these projects, opening new investment horizons and supporting sustainable development and growth in both sisterly nations.
