The Kurdistan Regional Government's Interior Minister, Reber Ahmed, affirmed on Thursday the region's readiness to resume oil exports via pipelines, indicating that Erbil awaits Baghdad's final steps to complete the process. Ahmed clarified that the KRG is serious about restarting oil exports, but the matter currently depends on reaching a definitive agreement between the federal government and the foreign oil companies operating there. He also pointed out that some of these oil companies are currently covering local needs, while the issue of insufficient security guarantees for them persists, including anti-drone defense systems, necessitating a radical solution.
