Kurdish Film Wins Award at Berlin Film Festival

A Kurdish film won an award at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival, marking a significant achievement for Kurdish cinema.

The short film "Spi" by director Nefroz Shaaban received a special award in the children’s short film category.

The 12-minute film tells the story of students searching for a “white screen” that brought them joy.

It was filmed in Duhok with contributions from local artists.

The director said the award reflects the progress of Kurdish cinema globally.

This success strengthens Kurdish presence in international film festivals.
