Karkh Court: Life Imprisonment for Two Drug Dealers

The Karkh Criminal Court in Baghdad issued a life imprisonment sentence today, Wednesday, against two drug traffickers for the crime of dealing in narcotic substances. According to information from the Supreme Judicial Council, the convicts were apprehended in possession of 1 kilogram and 488 grams of methamphetamine, intended for trafficking and sale among users. The statement added that this ruling was issued based on the provisions of Article (28/First) of the Law on Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances No. (50) of 2017, in addition to Articles of Complicity (47, 48, and 49) of the Penal Code.
