Judge Zidan Affirms: Violence Against Women Flagrant Human Rights Violation
The Head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zidan, affirmed today, Saturday, that violence against women constitutes a flagrant violation of human rights. Speaking at the Islamic Conference on Combating Violence Against Women, Zidan thanked Mr. Al-Hakim for sponsoring the event, underscoring Islam's significant regard for women. He reiterated the judiciary's commitment to protecting women and preserving their rights, noting the Council has established specialized family violence courts. These courts coordinate with the Public Prosecution and community police to provide necessary protection for victims. Concluding his address, Judge Zidan highlighted the judiciary's support for women in various fields, including establishing the Network of Arab Women Judges in Baghdad.
