Oil Minister Mohammed Khudair Al-Abbadi discussed, on Saturday, with the Turkish Minister of Energy ways to increase export capacities via the Kirkuk-Ceyhan oil pipeline. The Minister explained during his official visit to Turkey that an expanded meeting was held with his Turkish counterpart to continue preparing the draft bilateral agreement between the two countries for oil exports through the port of Ceyhan, pointing out that the participation of Turkish companies in Iraqi oil and gas projects was also addressed. He stressed that this file is of paramount importance to the governments of both countries, especially the Iraqi government, contributing to attracting qualified global institutions to optimally invest and develop the oil and gas sectors, noting that the meeting yielded fruitful results. Joint technical committees were formed, with one handling the oil field investment file and the second specializing in developing and building infrastructure for oil facilities, in addition to discussing prospects for partnership between Turkish and Iraqi companies. He expressed his aspiration for this file to proceed very smoothly to achieve the desired goals in line with the government's strategic orientations and the ministry's ambitious plans.
