Israel is preparing for the possibility that Iran may launch missile attacks against it during the general elections scheduled for this October, according to press reports. The newspaper "Israel Hayom" indicated that one of the scenarios studied by the Central Elections Committee is the possibility of Iran launching missiles on the morning of October 27, coinciding with the opening of polling stations, with the aim of stirring chaos and undermining the democratic process. The reports explained that election officials are preparing to face an unprecedented threat on the morning of the election day. Over recent weeks, intelligence estimates indicating an Iranian plan to disrupt the upcoming Israeli elections have increased. The Chairman of the Israeli Central Elections Committee, Noam Sohlberg, held special discussions regarding this threat. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Palestinians on Tuesday against launching attacks on Israel during a visit to the occupied West Bank just two weeks before the elections. Netanyahu confirmed in a video published by his office that the country is ready for every scenario. The general elections will be held on October 27 to determine whether Netanyahu, who has spent the longest time in office in Israeli history, will remain in power or not. This ballot is the first since Hamas's unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, which led to a bloody war in the Gaza Strip that has not ended yet.
