Iraq's National Security Advisor Warns Against Regional Conflicts, Emphasizes Stability Vision

Iraq's National Security Advisor, Qassem Al-Aboudi, warned that some parties are attempting to draw the country into conflicts that do not serve its national interests, emphasizing the government's drive for stability and sustainable development. This statement followed a phone call from NATO's Assistant Secretary-General for Operations, Krystian Batak. During the call, both officials discussed continued cooperation and partnership between NATO and the Iraqi government on shared concerns. Batak congratulated Al-Aboudi on his new appointment, expressing NATO's desire for its mission to return to Iraq and its appreciation for the existing partnership. Al-Aboudi clarified that friendly nations wish to invest in Iraq, leveraging the government's vision for economic openness. He highlighted international community support for Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi's government, citing its comprehensive leadership vision and its commitment to strengthening ties with NATO due to its vital role in training, capacity building, and advising Iraqi military and security forces. He reiterated that the Iraqi government aims to consolidate stability and foster sustainable development to uplift the nation, despite attempts to involve it in unbeneficial conflicts. Batak, for his part, proposed holding the next high-level diplomatic dialogue in Brussels in October to advance the partnership and cooperation with Iraq.
