Iraqi Prime Minister Receives Official Japanese Invitation to Visit Tokyo

Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi today received an official invitation from Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi to visit the Japanese capital, Tokyo. This invitation was extended on Monday during Al-Zaidi's reception of the Japanese Ambassador to Iraq, Akihiro Endo, who conveyed his government's invitation, emphasizing Japan's keenness to strengthen cooperation and partnership with Iraq in various fields. The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the invitation, underscoring the great importance and historical depth of Iraqi-Japanese relations. He affirmed Iraq's commitment to developing these ties across diverse sectors, particularly in investment and economics. Al-Zaidi noted that Iraq places significant emphasis on building sustainable economic partnerships and expanding joint cooperation in vital areas such as energy, technology, and development, aiming to establish a more effective economic model. In this regard, the Prime Minister encouraged Japanese companies to increase their presence and invest in various development projects within Iraq. For his part, the Japanese Ambassador expressed his pleasure in conveying his government's invitation to the Prime Minister to visit Japan. He stated that the visit represents a strategic step towards enhancing bilateral relations and is expected to open broader horizons for cooperation between the two countries, especially in economic and investment aspects. The Ambassador highlighted that Iraq, under its new government, is experiencing notable economic growth and a tangible improvement in its investment environment.
