Iraqi Prime Minister Emphasizes Strengthening Ties with Turkey and Regional Coordination
Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaydi affirmed on Sunday the importance of elevating Iraqi-Turkish relations to broader levels of cooperation and partnership. The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a communiqué that Ali Faleh Al-Zaydi received the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Iraq, Anil Bora Inan. During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the necessity of developing Iraqi-Turkish relations towards wider horizons of partnership and cooperation. He pointed to the positive outcomes of his previous visit to Ankara and his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. That visit included the signing of numerous memoranda of understanding and agreements in the fields of economy, development, energy, water, transport, and trade, serving common interests and supporting opportunities for development and prosperity in the region. The meeting also underscored the importance of continuing coordination and consultation on joint files, especially in light of the current challenges and circumstances in the region. The emphasis also included supporting dialogues and diplomatic tracks to protect regional and international security and stability.
