Iraqi Interior Ministry Warns Against Misuse of AI for Indecent Content

The Iraqi Ministry of Interior on Saturday issued a warning against exploiting artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to produce indecent video clips or content featuring suggestive material that offends public values and societal culture. The Ministry clarified in a statement that its "Committee for Degrading Content" has tracked individuals misusing AI to create visual content contradicting the authentic ethics and values of Iraqi society. The Interior Ministry affirmed that the law will pursue these exploiters, stressing severe penalties in coordination with the Iraqi judiciary. It urged citizens to cooperate with security agencies and report owners of such accounts and offensive content. The Ministry indicated that reports can be submitted confidentially via the 'Balligh' platform on the 'Ain Iraq' website, emphasizing its commitment to preserving social peace and public decency.
