Iraq's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Monday the dispatch of a committee to Semnan, Iran, to investigate an assault on Iraqi students. The ministry, in a statement, confirmed it closely monitored the attack on several students at their residence in Semnan province by Iranian citizens. Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein instructed the Iraqi Embassy in Tehran to probe the incident. The embassy subsequently sent a committee to check on the students and coordinate with relevant Iranian authorities on the investigation, stressing legal action against those responsible. While praising Iranian authorities' efforts to protect the students and transport them to university for exams, the ministry emphasized the importance of guaranteeing suitable conditions for the security and safety of Iraqi citizens in Iran, ensuring such incidents do not recur.
