Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein discussed on Monday with Abu Mohammad al-Julani, head of the transitional period in Syria, the importance of strengthening coordination and consultation between Iraq and Syria regarding shared challenges. The Foreign Ministry stated in a release that Minister Hussein met on Monday with (President of the Syrian Arab Republic Ahmed al-Sharaa) at the People's Palace in the capital Damascus, in the presence of Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani. The statement added that the meeting addressed bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to develop joint cooperation in various fields, contributing to strengthening mutual interests and serving both peoples. The two sides also reviewed regional and international developments and emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination and consultation between Iraq and Syria concerning common challenges, thereby supporting security and stability in the region. Both parties affirmed the importance of continuous bilateral communication and coordination, along with joint work to bolster relations between the two countries to achieve common interests and reinforce regional stability.
